- an auditor referral service to Centro subscribers.
How can Centro ASSIST help me with complying with the NDIS Practice Standards?
A Centro subscription provides compliance starter documentation that is and has been aligned to meet the requirements of the NDIS Core Module and Supplementary Module of the practice standards. These documents can be utilised to comply with either the Verification or Certification audit.
Unlike other solutions within the market that offer template-based policies that still require significant updating, our policies are complete and ready to be adopted into your organisation with the assistance of our advanced web-app features.
A full summary of the content we provide with our subscription service can be found in our Content Register.
If you would like to find out more about a Centro subscription, you can send us an email at support@centroassist.com.au or give us a call on 1300 420 171.
I want to register with the NDIS. How do I get started?
Broadly speaking there are 5 steps to NDIS registration as outlined in our guide here. We also recommend downloading and reviewing all of the documents in the NDIS Provider Application Pack available here.
When beginning the process there are a few things to consider:
- The main decision to make before beginning your NDIS registration application is which supports and services you intend to provide. Under the NDIS, these are grouped together under different registration groups. Not sure which registration groups apply? Check out our blog on NDIS Registration Groups Explained . Our free subscription product Centro FREE also provides a breakdown of which supports and services are available under each registration group – follow the link above to sign up today.
- The registration groups you select will determine which of two types of quality audit you will need to undertake after completing your application—Verification or Certification.
- Verification is for providers delivering lower risk or less complex services. When registering through verification, NDIS Providers supply documentation against the four outcomes within the Verification Module of the NDIS Practice Standards. This has lower documentation requirements and as a result, a lower cost of audit. These generally start around $1000 for the 3-year audit cycle.
- Certification is for providers who are providing any of the higher risk registration groups. When registering through Certification you will need to provide additional information during your audit about the governance and operational management of the business, including information about corporate structure and delegation of responsibilities within the business (even as a sole trader). These generally start around $3,500 for the full three-year audit cycle.
- Once you have decided on which registration groups fit with your application, you can begin the application form available on the NDIS Commission Application Portal. Information you will need to have on hand for the first stage of the application includes your ABN number, principal business address, primary contacts and if applicable, information about your corporate structure and governance arrangements, as well as the registration groups you plan on providing services under.
- The second stage of the online application is the self-assessment, which asks you to reflect on how you plan to meet the NDIS Practice Standards. A Centro ASSIST subscription will provide a guide to completing the self-assessment, along with the policies and processes you will require to progress through the audit and meet the ongoing compliance requirements of NDIS registration.
As an introduction to our subscriptions:
-
Centro ESSENTIALS is designed for small providers undergoing Verification, providing view-only documentation ready to use for verification audit.
-
Centro QMS is designed for small providers undergoing Certification, or those who wish to tailor the provided documentation to suit their needs or brand their documentation with a logo.
How much does it cost to register with the NDIS?
The registration groups are separated by level of risk by the NDIS, and the registration groups you choose will dictate which of two types of quality audit you will need to undertake after completing your application—Verification or Certification.
- Verification is for providers delivering lower risk or less complex services. When registering through verification, NDIS Providers supply documentation against the four outcomes within the Verification Module.
These generally start around $3,500 for the three-year audit cycle.
In addition to Centro content, what else will I need for my NDIS audit? / What documents do I need for my NDIS Audit?
As part of a Centro ASSIST subscription, we provide a checklist of commonly required documents for NDIS Audit in the Resources section of your web app.
If you are undertaking a verification audit, you can find more information on the required documents in the NDIS Verification Documentation Requirements.
Certification audits require additional documentation above verification requirements, which are outlined in the Provider application pack provided by the NDIS.
I am still waiting for the NDIS to process my application – can Centro ASSIST help?
Once your audit has been approved by the auditor and passed along to the NDIS Commission for final approval, the Commission needs to assess the suitability of NDIS providers and their key personnel to deliver NDIS supports and services.
This includes whether the NDIS provider or their key personnel have:
- previously been a registered NDIS provider
- had a banning order in place
- any past convictions
- been insolvent under administration
- had adverse findings or enforcement action taken by any relevant authorities
- been the subject of findings or judgement in relation to fraud, misrepresentation, or dishonesty
- been disqualified from managing corporations.
This process can take some time— For information or support once your application has been recommended to the Commission, please contact the NDIS Commission’s Registration Team on 1800 035 544 or by emailing Registration@ndiscommission.gov.au.
I have received my scope of audit. How can Centro help?
We have a referral program with four of the approved auditing companies.
To access our referral program, please send through a copy of your scope of audit. This document is sent to your email address upon completing the online application.
We always recommend getting in touch with the other auditors we don’t refer through to get a quote from them as well as pricing and time frames can vary.
The auditors will then be in touch directly with pricing for your quotes.
