Release 2.2.0 introduces the internal audit feature. This update is applicable to:
- Centro BUSINESS customers that have the internal audit product
- all customers that have purchased the individual internal audit product.
With internal audit, users can:
- assign the new permission roles to users (the role of Audit Contributor and Audit Manager)
- create and manage business units
- set up new audits using out-of the-box audit templates
- complete internal audits
- upload attachments
- enter performance score with an explanation and overall recommendations
- approve completed audit
- view their internal audit timeline.
New user permission levels
There are two new authority roles associated with internal audit.
1. Audit Contributor
Users assigned Audit Contributor permissions can contribute to any audits that are not assigned to specific users.
2. Audit Manager
Users assigned Audit Manager permissions can set up new audits, contribute to any audits and approve a completed audit.
In addition, the Audit Manager can view all information about completed and scheduled audits.
Business units
Users with Audit Manager permissions can create business units. This is optional. Business units represent different departments and other distinctive subdivisions of an organisation.
Audit Managers can assign different internal audits to each business unit.
The managerial view allows Audit Managers to create, update and delete business units.
Set up an internal audit schedule
New audits can be configured using the out-of-the-box audit templates. Each new audit can be assigned to specific users (with Audit Contributor permissions) and given a due date. If applicable, it can also be assigned to a business unit.
Audit Managers can change the due date and re-assign the audit to a different set of users if required.
Complete internal audit
To complete audit, users must download a copy of the blank audit form. This form can be downloaded multiple times if required.
Once the form is completed, users upload it back into the system and their final score will be automatically imported. Multiple files can be uploaded as attachments to support an audit.
To complete an audit, the audit must have a score. Optionally, users can also enter explanations for the results and recommendations for improving the score in the future.
When all relevant fields have been completed, the Audit Manager can approve the audit.
View performance timeline
The performance timeline is a way of viewing all past, ongoing and future audits.
This allows for a quick assessment of how the organisation (or business unit) is performing over time in terms of compliance.
For reporting purposes, the Audit Manager can print the view of the displayed performance timeline.
